Configuring Network Priority for a Compatible Camera Between Your Hub’s Wi-Fi and Hub’s Wireless Network

Released On: 2 недель назадLast update time: 2 недель назад

Choose Whether Your Wi-Fi Camera Will Communicate Directly to Your H200. or to Your Home's Wi-Fi Network

*Please Note that this feature is Currently Under Active Development and May Not Function as Expected. For now, the feature is specifically available for the C425v1; if you have compatible versions, we welcome you to try the feature and provide your feedback below. Otherwise, model and version compatibility will expand with future firmware updates.

The H200 and C425v1 are the first to receive the Network Priority feature, which brings your Wi-Fi camera more connection options.

This feature allows a compatible camera to communicate with your H200’s Wireless AP instead of using your Home Wi-Fi.

Second, the feature adds a configurable priority, allowing you to choose which connection should be used while still allowing your camera to switch its connection automatically.

What are "Accessible Devices"?

“Accessible Devices” are simply devices that can use certain functions of the hub while continuing to operate independently. For example, devices can store footage on the hub or use the hub’s hotspot to connect to the wireless network created by the H200 automatically.

Adjusting Your Camera's Network Priority:

  1. First, Navigate to Your H200’s Device Page in the Tapo App and Tap  ‘Connected Devices’
  2. Switch from the ‘Paired’ Tab to the ‘Accessible’ Tab
  3. Tap Manage and Choose the Camera You Would Like to Change the Settings For
  4. Tap ‘Network Priority’

When enabled, you can prioritize the networks available to your camera. Your camera will then switch to the optimal network. The available priority options are:

  • Auto,
  • Router Priority (Your Home Wi-Fi Network), and
  • Hub AP Priority (Wireless Network Created by the H200)

*When Your Hub’s Hotspot is available, you can set your camera to automatically switch between the hub’s network and the original network, depending on the network conditions. (ie. Your Home Wi-Fi Goes Down, or if the camera has difficulty reaching the hub)
