I'm surprised that this unit only works w/ 110 volts. Although it's a bit large for travel use, it would be useful if it worked with 220 volts for outside the US.

I don't seem able to hook this up to my HomeKit.   I have a home Google Fiber install which does not separate netowk names by frequency (2.4/5), and I can't seem to force my devices to the 2.4 for TP.   Any ideas on how to be successful?

  @ScorchedGeezer,

Having a mixed network is not usually a problem for Tapo devices and they will usually connect to the 2.4 Ghz portion of your mixed network. Are you making sure to setup the device so that it can be seen/accessible to your HomeKit hub?

I would recommend adding the device to the Tapo App if you are having difficulty, as this would allow any missing firmware updates to come through. This also takes your Apple Hub and local network out of the mix, allowing you to work on getting the device connected to your Wi-Fi
