failed: Device has bind other account
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I have an LB130 and no matter what it will not let me turn on Remote Access, it just gives me "failed: Device has bind other account", which makes no sense because I only have 1 account and the device is brand new. It also completely drops connection after a few minutes and tells me "Remote Control Disabled, You can enable Remote Control when you're connected to your home Wi-FI" (I AM connected to home Wi-Fi). At this point I have to completely reset the bulb again, putting me back at square one and in an endless cycle.

FYI: I have the latest app, and latest firmware.
Anyone got any ideas?

The remote setup problem might be that your phone is connected to your router's 5GHz band while your bulb will have connected to your 2.4GHz band. Kasa won't be able to see it and so will think you're remote. Forcing your phone onto your 2.4GHz band might sort it - having them use separate SSIDs makes it easier.

Get in contact with our support, they can unbind the smart device to the bound account so you can bind it. They will ask for your email, serial number of the device, and mac address.

Hello all,
I had the same problem like everyone here, I was unable to use remote functions (over Internet) on my LB120 TP-Link bulb via KASA app. Basically, the device was bind to another account.
I purchased LB120 from a friend and I've personally checked with him his KASA account and LB120 was not there. He also told me he followed recommended steps to remove it properly in the first place.
I had contacted TP-Link customer support and in few days they were able to manually unbind my LB120 and now I was able to bind it to my own KASA account, so now the light bulb works perfectly remotely via Internet (while in the past it was only responding to KASA command when I was connected to my home Wi-Fi or LAN).
Ther eason why TP-Link was able to help me out was, in their own words: "We just help you unbind the device manually since you can provide the correct MAC&Color box info as well as the correct previous account which prove you possess the device". So indeed, I had the original box with S/N stickers on it, the MAC address etc., so I'm guessing everyone here, who still owns the original box or at least S/N and MAC adress, should contact TP-Link support and resolve your issue with your light bulb.
Best.
