New Release How to Connect TP-Link Router to a third-party VPN Provider (For ExpressVPN, NordVPN, etc.)
A growing number of community users are showing great interest in the VPN Client feature on the TP-Link routers, we are happy to announce here that we do have some router models that support the VPN Client feature, and there will be more in the near future.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Kind Note:
This post will be actively updated to notify the new models that add the support for the VPN Client feature, welcome to subscribe!
What is a VPN Client?
Visit this link to understand what is a VPN client and how to set one up on the TP-Link VPN router.
What are the models that support VPN Client?
Visit the TP-Link website to get the models that support VPN Client.
Note:
1. If you cannot find the VPN Client feature on your router in the above product list, check and update your router firmware to the latest version.
2. The VPN Client product list is subject to change and might not include all models and hardware versions. Changing means that models can be both added and removed, or even just updated without warning. It is recommended to keep watching the firmware releases for your router, as the VPN client feature will be listed in the patch notes if/when it is added to your version.
3. Be aware that PLANNED is not a guarantee, as the plan can be adjusted or changed. We always recommend choosing a router based on the features that are currently offered, and not what could be.
How to use the VPN Client feature on the TP-Link Router?
Go through the setup guide to configure and use the VPN Client feature:
How Do I Use VPN Client to Access a Remote VPN Server
What VPN Server does the VPN Client work with?
The VPN Client of the TP-Link router can work with third-party VPN Servers such as Surfshark, NordVPN, Mullvad, Proton VPN, Express VPN, PrivateTunnel, OVPN, PIA, etc. Let the community know if it works with other VPN Servers that are not listed.
Note: If the above VPN service provider updates their VPN settings and/or protocols, we may need to update the router firmware to support them in the future.
Welcome to comment below if there is anything that needs to be updated or if you have more concerns.

@Kevin_Z only care about BE95, thanks
Deco BE95 doesn't support VPN Client with the published firmware. I cannot say for sure whether or when it will support VPN Client or WireGuard VPN now, it's suggested to pay attention to the firmware release notes on the product page. If it supports VPN Client or WireGuard VPN, it will be noted in the 'Modifications and Bug fixes'.

@Kevin_Z thanks..that is a highly desired feature that many people want now, especially in flag ship devices..hope they are working on that, and, using the Wiregard protocol, since that is the fastest one out there now

Yes, I personally agree with you.
While I haven't got advanced notice that whether BE95 will support WireGuard VPN. We will update the public resources once our Deco models also support WireGuard VPN in the future.

I am currently running version 1.32 on my AX11000. Is there a newer firmware as this was (I believe) a beta build to address the VPN client.

Hi @f14bdriver
1.3.2 should be the latest official version as you can confirm from the below firmware download link:

@Kevin_Z I just purchased Archer AX21 / AX1800. I have updated Firmware V: 1.1.0 Build 20230725 Rel 55602 95553). It is shown as model that supports VPN Client, but it only offers Open VPN and PPTP. No VPN Client option is available for third-party VPN Provider. Please advise.

Hi Kevin , Firstable sorry for my English.
I am one of a loyal TP-Link Customer. I would like to REQUEST Archer AX10 (AX1500) OpenVPN Client feature.
TP-Link Archer AX10 is the best seller router in ther world for TP-Link Wi-Fi6 router because of value for money, you get Wi-Fi 6 but at low price which is good.
Please Consider to add support for OpenVPN Client feature on Archer AX10 (AX1500) all hardware version (V1, V1.20, V2, V2.6). it will help many people since AX10 is a worldwide product. Thank you so much.
