home page netwrok map is terrible

Hardware Version :
Firmware Version : 3.17 build 20150514 re. 70861n ver 1
ISP : optimum
network map mixes up the wired and wireless clients. too many device names say unknown which they shouldn't
the number of connected devices shown on network map does not match the number of devices on the DHCP client list in advances settings. i think the network map does have the correct number of devices. not the dhcp client list.
a few other quirks i have come across. what gives? this GUI is for the birds
