I have a PA8030 V1 (not pa8030p), i was able to install the firmware 2.8 NVM (https://mega.nz/file/MJMngIgD#ZCDdBo5F1T_bIeGQM2tv8qpgz62lno-2oPAXY9K9o6g) with TL-PA8030P(EU)-170616-2.2.3-BETA.pib provided on this link: https://app.box.com/v/tl-pa8030p.
Will I have some benefits if I try the 2.4-BETA pib?

Hi,
I own a TL-PA8010p V2 and a TL-WPA8630P V2 and I was able to put both running on NVM 2.8.
To get the PIB for the TL-WPA8630P V2 I used the PIB backup tool that is on the dropbox.
In my case I tried to update the TL-WPA8630P V2 using the Ethernet cable but the tpPLC was only asking for the BIN, via wifi is asking NVM and PIB, not sure why but the upgrade went just fine.
I believe that everyone that owns a TL-WPA8630P V2 can easily do a PIB backup from their own device, but if you can't I'm adding the one I made.
Best Regards

@Orio76 What kind of sorcery is that? I have a TL-WPA8630P KIT V2 EU (TL-WPA8630P & TL-PA8010P) stuck on version 2.0.3 and would like to upgrade but I can't manage to get tpPLC to accept NVM + PIB files for TL-WPA8630P, either ethernet or wifi. What was the previous firmware version on the devices? Any additional step you might be forgetting to mention?
Thanks

Try it with the tool from post #43. The bin file is for the Wifi part. PIB (post #55) and NVM file are for the powerline part.

Thank you all, I was able to upgrade both devices of the TL-WPA8630P-EU-V2-kit to powerline (PLC) version 2.8.0.0030. The rest (WIFI) is still on 2.0.3 Build 20171018 Rel.36564.
TL-PA-8010P-EU-V2: with the tpPLC utility; NVM: QCA75XX-2.8.0.0030_modules_5-6_stripped.nvm; PIB: TL-WPA8630Pv2.PIB (from firmware package by @turboleak; post #26 by @turboleak)
TL-WPA8630P-EU-V2: with the old TP-Link utility that uses nvm and pib files (PowerLine.exe; post #43 Zyxel Utility failed); NVM: QCA75XX-2.8.0.0030-TL-WPA8630Pv2.nvm (from post #1); PIB: TL-WPA8630Pv2.PIB (post #55 by @Orio76)
@rmfigas maybe you could try this method.
Extract PIB (and NVM) file over the network
You can extract the pib file (and nvm file) from (all) the adapters over the network with their mac addresses.
@plctool -i 1 -p UNIQUE_DEVICE_NAME.PIB MAC-ADDRESS
Change PIB.BAT:
@echo off @set PLCTOOL=%CD% @plctool -i 1 -p DEVICE.PIB local
to (example, use your own device names and mac addresses)
@echo off @set PLCTOOL=%CD% @plctool -i 1 -p DEVICE_1_C47154FFB911.PIB C4:71:54:FF:B9:11 @plctool -i 1 -p DEVICE_2_0C8063EEF4A3.PIB 0C:80:63:EE:F4:A3
Change 'local' to the mac addresses of the devices in your network.
I have a VPN-installed and '-i 1' for the network adapter didn't work and generated empty pib files. Just try '-i 2', '-i 3', etc. On my PC network adapter '-i 5' generated the correct pib files of ± 22 kb in size.
Local device is the device with one network connector [host device]
Remote device(s) is (are) the device(s) with three network connectors [cliënt device(s)]
It is also possible to write nvm or pib files to the devices in the network. with '-N' and '-P' but I haven't done or tested this.

I contacted TP Link support and they wouldn't provide the nvm and pib files for the TP-Link TL-WPA8630PKIT-V2 (EU) to upgrade the PLC Qualcomm chipset firmware to the latest available version.
I read that this upgrade increases or improves the connection speed and network statiblity so I took the risk of upgrading the firmware by following the upgrade procedure mentioned in this forum thread and the chipset firmware is now successfully updated to QCA75XX-2.8.0.0030.
I can confirm that the reported connection speed is 25% higher than before tpPLC Utility and AVM FRITZ!Powerline Utility 1.0.3 report the same TX and RX speeds.
