Tapo P100 plug for 2KW heater okay?
Hi, Can anyone confirm if it's safe to use a 2kw heater with this Tapo P100 mini smart wifi plug? It says max load 2990 watts (13amp) but I've also seen a max load of 1200 watts mentioned.
Thanks

Good day,
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
May I know where are you located and what is the region code for the Tapo plug?
If it is EU version, it is 2990W/10 A max load;
While if it is UK version, it is 2990 W/13 A max load;
So may I know where did you see a max load of 1200 watts for the Tapo P100?
Thanks a lot.

@ACK5473 I'm using one P100 to control a 2000W convection heater with digital thermostat. P100 is rated for max 2300W or 10A at 230V. Powering that heater wasn't an issue, but I am using it only throughout the weekend and I think that the digital thermostat is important because it turns the heater off when reaching a set room temperature, that means that the convector will be on at full power consumption only for a limited time and allows the P100 to cool off.

Thanks for the info. It's a UK plug so it should be ok then as it's 2990 watts max. I think someone on Amazon wrongly put 1200 watts in a review.
