Firmwareupdate for TP-PL8030P

Hello,
I'd like to ask for a firmware update for the TP-PL8030P adapters which is based on the latest or a more recent *.nvm file.
Background:
As far as I know, all 1200 or 1300 Mbit/s powerline adapter are using the same chipset from Qualcomn (QCA7500).
TP-Link is also selling the TP-PL8010P adapters which are similar to the 8030 adapters except they lack two lan ports.
The lastest firmware for the 8030 adapters is from 28/03/16 while the lastet firmware for the 8010 adapters is from 18/08/16 (Day / Month / Year).
The firmware file of a QCA7500 adapter consists of two files.
The first file is the *.nvm file which is the firmware for the chipset provided by Qualcomn.
The second file is a *.pib file (parameter information block) which stores parameter information (MAC-address, tone-map (which frequencies should be used with which power), ...) and is adjusted by the producer of the adapter (TP-Link).
The new firmware of the 8010 adapter has the following nvm file: MAC-7500-v2.2.2-00-X-CS.nvm .
The latest firmware of the 8030 adapter has only the following nvm file: MAC-7500-v2.0.0-05-X-CS.nvm .
As you can see there is quite a big version jump from one chipset firmware to the other.
With a new firmware I hope to get improved performance and stability, therefore I'd like to have a new firmware for the 8030 adapter which is based on at least the MAC-7500-v2.2.2-00-X-CS.nvm .
Devolo also sells 1200 Mbit/s adapters on the German market and they claim that an firmware update (with NVM 2.2.x ...) boosts performance by 20% (though I do not know if that's true or whether they have adjusted anything else like the tone map).
PS: I tried to crossflash firmware : Using the firmware from the 8010 adapters or a combination of the new nvm with the pib from the 8030 adapter but I could not flash the firmware.

Mine PLC are the P ( passthrough ) version too. To be specific 8030P v1 AV1200. The 5 MB/s ( 40 Mbit ) are on real data transfers on internal LAN over the power socket, not from the utility bandwidth speed test. Also, the firmware posted above has stock values, you could, like anything else, with the proper tools, fine tune it for the socket in use. By the way, like I said, I didn't made any significant change s over the stock firmware available on the product page. I just made it compatible with the V1 version I bought while TPLINK isn't offering any software's updates. I've updated the photo to shown mine version.

Hi Nolan,
when talking about real data transfers 5 Megabyte/s is a huge difference.
Thanks again for your efforts, I will give a shot soon :)

It should be a straightforward flash on PORT 1.
I'd advise to NOT enter the bootloader mode unless necessary, know that flashing the firmware from it will rewrite all the parameter and require to supply, at least, the unique factory MAC address of your device ( should be a sticker with it anyway ).
Final point is: it involve in edit the device parameters by yourself - do that only if you know what you are doing.
I will monitor this thread for a little longer, if any issue report back till I'm here.

Hi Nolan,
thanks for your help!
I flashed my two adapters today (I had trouble starting the utility on three different laptops (Vista, 10 and Mint via Wine), only my desktop could run it - Maybe it's because I used an USB Ethernet adapter, who knows....). Sadly, I do not see any performance improvement at all (I actually think it's a tiny bit slower --> Like 0.2 MB/s less, I have around 19 MB/s now).
A devolo 500 Mbit/s adapter I occasionally use used to have problems with the TP-Link adapters (connection sometimes dropped for a second), when I use it next time I will check whether this is fixed.
It's interesting that the adapter are now showing as 1300 Mbit/s instead of 1200 like before.
Cheers

Try to set MODE to "Normal Mode" instead of "Lower PLC-to-VDSL" on both ( if the option is already set, change it, save and re-apply ) it's a new option available only on the lastest TP utility 2.2.2660.4 also, try to re-apply the QoS.

I did :) When using Vectoring Mode I only had half the speed (10 MB/s). I mean 20 MB/s is not bad, is it...

Yea, mine top max @ 25 MB/s.. If you plan to go back on the 2.0.0-05 firmware, use the same method you did to upgrade to this 2.2.2-00.

Sure.
Right here >> 2.2.3 for the TP-PL8030P V1
Notice: this is a straightforward port without any testing except for the flashing part.
FLASH IT ONLY FROM THE PORT 1 DIRECTLY ATTACHED ON THE PC! see the archive content first and read the HOW TO.
