C6 and RE305 issue
C6 and RE305 issue
Dear All,
I have a strange issue with my C6 and RE305.
Since i have from ISP Voip i must have ISP router connected to internet. So i connect C6 as router via Ethernet to ISP router and created a mesh with my RE305.
The first issue i have is that devices that are half a meter from C6 are connecting to RE305 that is on another floor. (this is really weird!!!)
Second issue i'm having and i was unable to find a solution is with my LG TV, TP-Link smart outlets and a shelly device (2.5).
- LG TV, after a few hours, wifi seems connected, but there is no traffic. Some times it is unable to connect to both 2.4 and 5 SSID's
- outlets and shelly, they loose connectivity to wifi
Both of the issues are fixed if i disable and re-enable C6 wifi. I connected the devices to my ISP wifi and there is no issue, so this is due to C6 or RE305
I already tried with static IP's, reservations, automatic IP;s, static channel on wifi but without any luck.
So: onemesh is not working as it should.. o have 7 devices close to the router, that are connecting to RE305 and not the router.
I'm thinking disabling onemesh, but this was the reason i choose those TP-Link products

Hello, sorry to hear that the beta firmware upgrade on the RE305 destroyed it, while we can guarantee the beta firmware is good, you can see others can upgrade successfully. Is it completely no response when you tried to reset it? Are there any special operation or power outage when you preform the upgrade?
Back to the C6 2.4G issue, I will send you a beta firmware to confirm if the issue will be resolved, it will allow you to disable the Onemesh feature on the router. When you preform the firmware upgrade, ensure the router gets a stable power supply, you may also connect the computer to the router with Ethernet cable to do this.

@Kevin_Z Dear Kevin,
when the RE305 broken from firmware, i realized that all 2.4Ghz devices were connecting to the extender. even if they are next to the router. After the 305 failure all 5Ghz decices reconnected to router. None of the 2.4 did!!!
I disable and re-enable the wifi and all devices connected.
I will keep checking it to see if there was an incopatibility with RE305, or 2.4Gzh wifi is problematic on C6
Unfortunately my R305 will take weeks to be replaced.
About the firmware upgrade on 305, there was no outage, file uploaded succesfuly and operation started. after device rebooted all lights blink for a second and then only the power stays open .

Thanks again for getting back. Good to know that the Archer C6 is currently working fine, please monitor the performance to see if there is still an issue even without the RE305.
