I've two links one downstairs and one upstairs one downstairs ok signal but one upstairs terrible I've plugged in Ethernet cable to both but looks like it picking up WiFi only Why?

I've paired them both and learned they are on different power circuit now upstairs is different circuit that downstairs I can't move modem cause beside telephone line 

Is there any way around this?

It is suggested to use the powerline adapters in the same power circuit cause the powerline interference will affect the performance of the powerline adapters a lot. 

 

Meanwhile, you mentioned you plugged in ethernet cable to both but it is picking up wifi only, I did not get your point, could you please provide more information? 

 

Besides, you can change another socket to plug it or you can move it downstairs and verify whether it works well when they are in the same power circuit.
