Hello,

I have a problem wit all apple equipment in our house. Some sites (cisco.com, apple.com ...) don't load completly. Some other load but very slowly.

I don't have this problems with Windows XP, Win7, Android 2.3 / 4.1, Blackberry, Mindows Mobile.

I assume there ist a mtu issue. You can't change any mtu config in apple iphone, ipod (at least I don't know how).

The Serviceprovider ask me to configure the mtu in the TL-WR741ND to 1492 bytes. But I tried als many other configs. Without success.

Can you helb me please.

You can go to the Wireless Settings to change the channel.
and go to Wireless Advance to disable the WMM

You can change the MTU to 1440 to give a try. 1492 is the most service providers mtu size. Change it to smaller than the one they provided. And for the wireless, you can also change the channel wdth to 20MHz

Please check your DHCP configuration in router, my example:

Click "SAVE" and reboot router in configuration panel.

thanks for fast answers
@sandy: wireless setting are not the problem because some sites are available
@jimasek: dhcp, dns etc are not the problem because some sites are available

@gmail: I'm also thinking that mtu is the problem. May be the tp-link TL-WR741ND desn't do the fragmentation correct. I can't check what mtu ipod, ipad etc are using. I assume, that their mtu is 1500 and the TL-WR741ND doesn't do fragmentation to 1492 packets. This is a software bug in my opinion. Is there anybody from TP-Link in this forum?
I will try 1440 next weekend and tell you but this is only a work around because 1492 would be the correct mtu (have tried it sucsessfully with TL-WR741ND butr with dd-wrt -sw and also with German "Fritzbox".

same problem

I had the same problem with a TL-WDR4300. For me I was able to fix it by hard-coding my DNS servers to opendns. I noticed that the problem primarily happened when going to sites that redirected me to a mobile version of the site, typically m.something.com instead of www.something.com. This suggested DNS as a possibility, so I just tried switching to OpenDNS and that did it. OpenDNS IP addresses taken from opendns.com are below.
