Archer D9 setup ipV6 British Telecom
Hi Everyone,
I have a "simple" question.... How to setup ipV6 on an Archer D9 connected to ISP British Telecom.
If I have understood correctly ipV6 should be available.
Anyone?
Best regards

Hi Kevin,
Many thanks for your very quick help.
I follow the the instructions without problems but my status page still gives me "connecting" but never connected like ipv4.
So how to narrow it down to a solution??????
Is it me, is it BT, is it the box?
Any clever way to solve it???
BR

Hi,
We will get some details to do further analysis and try to fix it.
1. Have you ever registered IPV6 service with BT?
2. Please show us a screenshot of the status page where we can see the IPV4 address and gateway.
3. Please take a screenshot of the IPV6 configuration page.
Note: Go to Network-----IPv6 LAN settings, and take a picture of the configuration information.
4. With your computer connected to it, please check its IPV4 and IPV6 address. Instruction as below: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/838/
Note: Please take a picture as well.
Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

Hi Kevin,
1 No I have never registered ipV6 with BT but I have 2 other D9s both fully working with ipV6 on other ISPs outside of the UK.
There are numerous threads around on issues between TP-Link equipment and BT, prefix /64 or /56?
I am not an expert on this subject but it seems many people are struggling with the same subject.

To make IPV6 work, we need register the IPV6 service with BT first, otherwise, we cannot get it work even though we have the IPV6 address.
If the 2 other D9s both fully working with ipV6 on other ISPs outside of the UK, you can confirm whether the IPV6 service has been registered with them.

Hi Kevin,
No registration was required and to be honest I don't see why you would need to with BT.
I don't to register for ipV4 so why for ipV6. All that is required is that BT provides for the ipV6 service on it's network.
Which by reading the forums they have done already a while back. Fiber opytics is availbe where I live so ipV6 should also be.
Maybe best to get tp-link UK support involved I guess? (And as I understand but perhaps incorrectly BT uses a "unusual" prefix system which very likely has an impact on D9 setup)
What do you think?
Best regards
