Model: Archer TX20E
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi, today I installed an Archer TX20E (v1.0 AX1800) on my Windows 11 desktop.

I have wifi working just fine, bluetooth however won't install properly.

What I've done:

- install the adapter in different PCI-E slots

- connect the bluetooth to USB header cable to different F-connectors on my motherboard

- tried both the driver from the CDROM that came with the adapter and the driver from here: Download for Archer TX20E | TP-Link

- remove all existing bluetooth drivers via device manager. Also removed the hidden bluetooth devices

- checked BIOS

- checked for Windows updates

- several reboots

- looked in this forum, e.g. Archer TX20E AX1800 PCIe-Adapter - bluetooth not connecting - Home Network Community

I would really appreciate if someone could help me get bluetooth working.

Further information:

My motherboard is an ASRock B450 Pro4 R2.0 and I'm running Windows 11 Pro 24H2

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

Can the Bluetooth device be detected by the Device Manager?

You may refer to the screenshots to check whether the adapter was plugged into correct port instead of port23.

And it is suggested to try the driver we shared via the  private message section.

@Marvin_S thank you for thinking along, checking the motherboard and the right connector, appreciated!

The device is plugged into port #22, I tried #21 as well. Both connectors are working, there is a USB + card reader drive bay connected to it, that works on both connectors.

Com1 won't work of course, but I can see the possibility of an easy mistake.

Device manager finds a USB device, but isn't able to recognize it.

Picture below: my Windows is on Dutch, but I marked the English error 'A request for the USB device descriptor failed.'

About the driver you messaged me: I tried both. One couldn't install, because of a wrong Windows version (I'm on 11Pro 24H2). The other driver failed as well. That was no surprise, since I found that one in the TP-link support downloads and tried it before.
It starts the installation, asks me to connect the device (which is connected) and then terminates with telling me that the device is not installed.

I also checked the BIOS to make sure Fast Boot is turned off, I know that can cause issues with USB devices at times.

Hi,

Please check that the USB cable that came with the TX20E is wired properly.

The little connector that plugs into the TX20E should be wired [ red | white | green | black ] and the F_USB connector [ red | white | green | black | not connected ].

@woozle thank you for your reply.

I've checked both connectors:

Both seem to be wired in the way you described.
