Model: TL-WR802N
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I recently purchased a tp-link TL-WR802N to create a network WiFi bridge between my router (located on an outside wall) to my Honeywell security system (located in the center of the house).  I understand a "bridge" eliminates having to run wires,

Following the instructions provided, the installation is called a "Client".  But after logging on and selecting client and finishing the setup, the thing does not work.  When I plug my PC ethernet cable into it, I cannot access the internet or anything else on my LAN.  I tried the troubleshooting steps and Nada.  I connected an ethernet cable to it from my router and although the device is discovered, I still cannot access it via it's IP address.

So my questions are:  Can this device work as a "bridge"?  And, if so, how do I set this model up to do this?

@Sanders2222

In client mode, the TL-WR802N will connect to the main router by wireless, and your computer can access internet from it by wired cable. Like main router )))(((802N(client mode)---PC.

Below is the instruction.

If you want to connect the TL-WR802N to the main router by wired cable to boost wifi signal, you can configure it as an access point.

May it help.
